Training Fees Repayment Agreement


Agreement between Employee & Employer to repay training fees for early leavers.



This Training Fees Refund Agreement – During Employment is designed for employers who wish to make an offer to pay all or a proportion of an employee’s fees for a training course. It is suited for situations where the training is long term, in particular qualification training such as degrees, diplomas, NVQs and so forth.

This Training Fees Refund Agreement also makes provision for study leave, either in the form of one long period or for a number of shorter periods as and when required.

This agreement crucially allows the employer to claw back training fees and any maintenance / salary that has been paid in the event that the employee leaves before any benefit is gained by the employer from the training course calculated on a sliding scale and authorises the employer to make deductions from wages.

Employers should be aware that it is unlawful to make such a deduction from wages unless the employee has given his or her written consent in advance.
